Explore our award-winning evidence-based prevention programs
OurFutures is a leading provider of proven evidence-based drug, alcohol, and health education programs for high school students. We’re working towards a world where every young person is happy, functioning, and confident, fostering a brighter tomorrow for everyone.
Clinically proven to demonstrate positive behaviour change
Our universally accessible drug and alcohol programs have been clinically tested with some programs having lasting positive effects into early adulthood. Their effectiveness has been established in eight large, randomised controlled trials and some earning the highest-evidence ratings from the NCETA and the Australian Government-funded Positive Choices portal.
If 1.5 million Australian high school students had access to our Prevention Programs, we would have:
Fewer adolescents binge drinking
Fewer
hospitalisations
Reduction in hazardous alcohol and drug use*
*From the evidence across one of our extensive randomised controlled studies.
Co-designed with teachers and students, for young people
OurFutures was developed by researchers based at the Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use at the University of Sydney and co-designed with teachers, curriculum experts, and high school students. Each course is based on cognitive behaviour and social influence theory and is mapped to the Australian and state curricula, with no teacher training required.
